Well, I got another one. I’m not going to bother showing up because it looks like our time traveler friend is getting extremely sloppy. The coordinates are a typo because Longitude 071.17355 (Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan) should be Longitude -71.17355 (Woburn). Now I’m really not sure if I want to give my spare Dimensional Warp Generator to such a careless time traveler!

After receiving the Dimensional Warp Generator and teleportation dropoff emails, I was intrigued enough to check out the alleged delivery point on Monday, July 28, 2003. The location was only ten minutes from work and I figured, why not? At worst, no one would show up and I’d sit there alone for ten minutes. At best, I’d get a good laugh and snap some fun photos! Little did I know that there would be some characters there who were taking the whole thing so seriously!

Update (08/29/2003): Wired reported on the Dimensional Warp Generator and linked to me. Turns out that the time traveler’s family is concerned about him…

Now is your chance to meet the Dimensional Warp Generator time traveler in person! He’ll be waiting at the corner of Cummings Ave. and Village Street in Woburn, MA at exactly 3:00 PM today! You’d think he’d be more careful about passing around this extremely sensitive information. I’m sure that government agencies around the world would be interested in this info…

I’ve been getting copies of the dimensional warp generator email for years. Looks like quite a few other people have been receiving it as well.

07/28/2003 Update: I’ve received another email which suggests the Warp Generator will be ready for pickup on July 28, 2003 at 3:00 PM in Woburn, MA!
