Everything worth saying has already been said…

We’re in hot water…

One of the steam return pipes on our oil burner rusted through and blew up tonight. Feh. We have heat, but at low pressure. Hopefully the repair guys will show up early tomorrow and apply some pipe wrap to limp us through until we do a full system replacement. I’m assuming we’re looking at upwards of $10k for a full burner replacement. At least Kelly’s parents said they’d help us out when the time came.

Well, the time has come.

  2. Ha…yeah, weird cool in-laws. They view our house as their investment. Seriously. The better off we are, the better an investment their daughter is. It’s a strange politic.

  3. Who needs heat?

    After limping along our old oil-fired steam boiler for the past two months, our brand new Utica SFH Steam Oil Boiler was installed yesterday. Although we’re now quite a few thousand dollars poorer, the peace of mind and fuel savings…
